This is the front cover of Empire Magazine, a magazine set around Movies.
This front cover is a tipical front cover you would expect to find on a film magazine. The picture is of one character and a picture that could be found on a poster.
The green font colour matches the famous green hair of the joker. If the reader had not already realised that this character is the joker from the batman comics, the sub-heading “Batman Vs Joker – Summer just got serious” would show that this issue is based around the sequel to extremely popular Batman Begins.
The size of the font is very important to the layout of the magazine. The price, date and issue number are in small print above the M in the Magazine title. This gives the potential buyer a chance to read and be become interested before buying.
Although this issues big topic is Batman, the front cover also drops some big hollywood names like Clint Eastwood and Will Smith. This is so readers who have no interest in batman may still want to buy the magazine because of there popularity.
